What comes to mind when you think of a game with the title of ‘Inferno’? We picture huge buildings ablaze. Firemen battling against the flames. Huge jets of water being sent hurtling towards the fire, trying to put it out. People being rescued from inside the lit structures. The word of ‘inferno’ makes us think of devastation, heat, power and destruction. Is that what you get with this slot game of the same name? Well, it’s barely anything like that, if we’re honest. Upon loading the game up, you’ll see that the only relativity it has to this idea is the background. Flames can be seen scorching the backdrop, but it’s of little impact. The imagery on display on the reels is all relative to classic slot games. Therefore, you won’t be seeing fires, fire-fighters, hosepipes of water or anything like that. Instead, you’ll get to see traditional fruit icon imagery as well as one or two additions on top. Bit of a let down with such an impactive game title.
Amongst this game’s features, gamers will get to see a total of five reels and three rows. This provides a fairly standard interface to spin the reels of, as regular slots players will see. Alongside this, the developer has made sure to add a total of five different pay lines. These have all been set in place, so you do not have the option to adjust the amount in play. However, one thing that you do have the option of customising, is the value of your wager per spin. This is done with the plus and minus buttons at the bottom of the reels. Using these will allow you to change the value between $0.40 and $100 per spin. There’s also the addition of an ‘Autoplay’ button. This allows you to set the reels of spinning several consecutive times at the same wager level.Of course, you need to have some ideal imagery and graphics in a game to make it better. The graphics in Inferno are fairly nice, although nothing exceptionally superior. As we said previously, the majority of these icons are of the classic fruit symbols. First of all, you’ll be able to see an icon of cherries (which are purple, for some reason). Then comes a lemon, an orange and a plum. Any of these first symbols can provide prizes of up to 4,000 coins. Next in line is the bunch of grapes and the golden bell. These enable winnings of up to 10,000 coins. Finally, the gold star is the highest paying symbol in the game, ensuring wins of up to 200,000 coins for players.
While it’s fairly common for classic online slots to not really provide any kind of specialities, we were expecting Inferno to at least give us something that makes it live up to its impressive title. Unfortunately, it doesn’t really triumph in this area either. The first of its speciality features comes in the form of the gold crown. This works as a scatter icon for the game. This means that it can reward you with winnings wherever it shows up on the reels. If five of them come into view in any location, you’ll be sure to receive a maximum reward of 5,000 coins altogether!Of course, there’s also the addition of the Novomatic gamble round as well. This becomes active whenever you form a winning combination in the base game. Should you opt to play this round, you’ll see a new screen come into view. This provides you with a face down playing card. Your only job is to guess what colour the card will be when you turn it over. Red or black. If you guess this correctly, your winnings from the triggering round receive a double multiplier. However, if you make an incorrect guess, your winnings are lost.
